About Us
Located in the village of Hesket, the vineyard at Hesket Estate was first established in the 1980’s. Further expansion and refinement occurred in the 1990’s when the Hudspeth Stevenson family purchased the property. The vineyard is at an elevation of 660 metres above sea level. Hesket Estate is today a boutique cool climate vineyard specialising in the varieties of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. The 2008 Pinot Noir won gold medal, People’s Choice and Top of Class awards at the 2012 Macedon Ranges Wine Exhibition. The 2008 Chardonnay won Gold medal and People’s Choice award at the 2010 Macedon Ranges Wine Exhibition.
In addition to these estate grown wines a Gewurztraminer is produced from the Straws Lane Vineyard and a Heathcote Shiraz are available. Proprietors, the Hudspeth Stevenson family utilise modern viticulture techniques using the grey and red loam soils of the beautiful Hesket Kerrie Valley. Such techniques yield grapes of exceptional quality and character. All grapes are handpicked. Tasting and sales of these fine wines in this peaceful garden setting will allow you to experience the lifestyle of a truly boutique vineyard.

Accommodation at Hesket Estate
The Spud Diggers Hut (see photos below) offers charming self-contained queen accommodation overlooking the paddocks and vineyards of Hesket Estate. Enjoy this peaceful setting, stroll around the farm and meet our sheep, alpacas and cattle, or wander the area of natural woodland. Make the most of this ideal location, with Woodend and Romsey an easy 10 kilometres away and the legendary Hanging Rock only 4 kilometres from the Spud Diggers Hut.
